SMT. SAVITRI THAKUR
Smt. Savitri Thakur was born on 1st June 1978 in Kalikiray, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh. She was the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from 2014-2019 and again re-elected in 2024, representing the Dhar constituency of Madhya Pradesh. In the past, she served as the Chairman of the Zila Panchayat from 2004 to 2009, where she played a crucial role in local governance and rural development. She was also the National Vice President in BJP Kisan Morcha from 2017 to 2020.
As a parliamentarian, Smt. Thakur has been a member of several key committees, including the Committee on Empowerment of Women, Social Security Scheme, the Standing Committee on Industry, and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Railways.
Smt. Thakur’s dedication to social work is evident through her efforts in empowering women in tribal villages. She has organized job-oriented training programmes for tribal women, created self-help groups, and enabled their financial empowerment, significantly contributing to their socio-economic upliftment.
Smt. Savitri Thakur is married to Shri Tukaram Thakur, and they have two sons. She has completed her higher secondary education.
