Query 1: How I can seek information under RTI Act?
Reply: One can seek information online through file RTI application at RTI Online Portal rtionline.gov.in and through an application addressed to the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO), Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA). One should specifically write the following in the letter :
Query 2: Is there any form for applying under RTI?
Reply: As such, CARA does not prescribe any other form for seeking information under RTI Act. One can simply write a request along with the prescribed fee and information required. Applicants belonging to BPL (Below Poverty Line) are exempted from depositing the fee subject to production of the proof.
Query 3: What if I want photocopy of the documents/ information available with the CARA?
Reply: If you want the copy of some documents you have to pay the additional amount/charges (@ Rs.2/- per copy/per page) through Demand Draft (DD)/ Banker Cheque (BC)/ Indian Postal Order (PIO) in the name of “Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA)” payable at New Delhi or you can also make the payment of additional amount/charges (in cash) with Accounts Section of CARA office, alongwith the postal charges to send the documents.
Query 4: What if I do not get a reply?
Reply: Normally information is sent within a period of 30 days from the receipt of the RTI Application at CARA. However, if you do not get a reply, you can file/submit first appeal (online/offline) to the First Appellate Authority, Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA). In case you do not get the response from the First Appellate Authority, you may file/submit second appeal to the Central Information Commission, CIC Bhawan, Baba Gangnath Marg, Munirka, New Delhi - 110067.
